Gentle Precision Upper Cervical Chiropractic Methods

What Makes Us Different? - upper cervical chiropractic restores body balance

We Restore Body Balance

The Grostic Procedure is a natural health care system that creates more optimum body function by restoring Body Balance. It is a method within the Chiropractic field. The Grostic Procedure is a painless spinal correction, which restores body balance and reactivates the body’s natural healing ability.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF BODY BALANCE?

Body Balance and Body Imbalance

When we complain about common ailments, we are actually noticing the symptoms of a more basic ailment - body imbalance. If the body becomes out of alignment - or imbalanced - it can cause stress, tension and pressure on the brain stem. This in turn, cuts down the flow of health and healing messages from the brain to some part of the body.

When this happens, the part of the body that does not receive the proper health and healing messages from the brain, will start to suffer and develop symptoms - or signals. These signals take the form of pain and discomfort.

Healing Cycle

Published research studies have shown that when body balance is restored, the body enters a healing cycle that alleviates pain and symptoms, elevates the immune system, increases blood and oxygen circulation, normalizes nervous system communication, and creates more optimum body performance.

WHAT IS A GROSTIC SPINAL CORRECTION AND HOW DOES IT RESTORE BODY BALANCE?

The Grostic spinal correction is a precisely calculated adjustment (correction) of the bone structure of the head and neck that is barely felt by the patient. The correction is designed to remove interference from around the brain stem.

The brain stem is where the brain and spinal cord meet at the top of your neck. This area of the nervous system controls all of your body’s automatic functions, such as breathing, blood circulation, digestion and elimination, sexual activity, and posture.

The top two bones of the neck are called the atlas and axis vertabrae. The atlas vertebra is called the first cervical vertebra, or the C1 vertebra. The axis vertebra is called the second cervical vertebra, or the C2 vertebra. These two vertebrae surround and protect the delicate brainstem.

If either of these bones around the brain stem is misaligned and compressing that area, it causes postural distortion (body imbalance) and can negatively affect physical, emotional, and even mental performance. The Grostic spinal correction can balance the bone structure of the head and neck, removing interference around the brain stem, and restoring body balance.

As soon as the spinal correction is made and Body Balance is restored, muscles relax, blood and oxygen circulation increase, and healing messages flow from the brain to the affected area. This reactivates the body’s natural healing ability and causes the relief of pain and symptoms.

HOW IS BODY IMBALANCE DETERMINED?

Body imbalance or postural distortion is determined by body weight differences comparing one side of the body to the other, leg length difference, visual inspection, and restricted spinal movement. In a lying down or supine position, the leg lengths may differ as much as one inch. Postural measurement reveals head tilt, low shoulder, pelvic distortion, or improper spinal curvatures. Restricted neck movement or other decreased joint ranges of motion reveals improper body biomechanics.

HOW IS THE GROSTIC SPINAL CORRECTION CALCULATED?

Once body imbalance has been determined, precise X-ray analysis, using physics and mechanics, is used to calculate a formula for each spinal correction. Each formula is calculated for that individual patient. No two spinal corrections are exactly alike.

Once the formula has been calculated, the Grostic spinal correction is used to re-align the bone structure of the head and neck, removing brain stem compression, and restoring body balance.

After the spinal correction has been made, a post X-ray analysis is used to determine the success of the correction.

The Grostic X-ray system is set up to minimize X-ray exposure to the patient. After the initial spinal correction, further X-rays are usually unnecessary.

WHAT DOES THE GROSTIC SPINAL CORRECTION FEEL LIKE?

Restoration of Body Balance.

The Grostic spinal correction is painless and barely felt by the patient. The adjustment feels like a gentle touch on the side of the neck. This is possible because of the precision x-ray analysis, prior to the correction, that provides the Doctor with the exact formula used for the correction. The formula was engineered for your individual correction. No two formulas are the same; each one is developed for that individual person.

Because of the precise X-ray analysis, a correction can be made without any forceful, jerking or twisting movements. Many patients will see immediate results with the first correction. Many patients will notice instant relief of pain or headaches, a warm feeling in the painful area, or will experience a feeling of relaxation and increased range of motion.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY FIRST GROSTIC SPINAL CORRECTION?

After the first correction, a patient will enter a healing cycle. Healing messages flow from the brain to the affected area of the body and the self-healing process begins. Symptoms may decrease immediately or pain may change and move to another area of the body. All are signs that indicate the self-healing process is working. During this time, most patients can expect excellent results and a return to normal activities.

The Grostic Doctor will recommend periodic checks during this time to ensure the best possible results. As long as a patient keeps his or her body balance, no further correction to the upper neck will be needed.
